Get Back to the Game You Love - Rehab Your Elbow Pain
There are two very common forms of elbow pain. One is called ‘tennis elbow’ and the other is called ‘golfers elbow’. One of the key distinguishing characteristics is where the pain is felt.If you are a golfer feeling pain or discomfort on the outside of the elbow, chances are that you have the beginning of tennis elbow. If, on the other hand, you feel pain or discomfort on the inside of the elbow, it is likely golfers elbow.
Golf Elbow is particularly common in female golfers. The wrist flexors are the muscles that are used to pull the hand down, and they are located on the palm side of the forearm. These flexor muscles join together and attach to the common flexor tendon, which attaches to the inside of the elbow (medial epicondyle). When the wrist flexors are overused, the common flexor tendon becomes inflamed and painful. There are multiple ways to overuse the wrist flexors but because people who play golf frequently develop this problem it has become known as 'golfer's elbow'.
For obvious reasons, if you are feeling pain in your forearm or near your elbow joint, it is important to see a physician to get a proper diagnosis. This will rule out any major health concerns and allow you to focus on the remedy by taking corrective action.
In many instances, golfers elbow is caused by weak and/or inflexible wrists, poor swing mechanics or repetitive stress. Repetitive stress may be difficult to control if you play a lot of competitive golf, but you can control the strength and flexibility of your wrists as well as your golf swing mechanics.
The Elbow Injury Workout is designed to help you re-enter the game of golf without risking injury. This program was designed to strengthen not only the wrists, but the muscles above and around the wrists as well as other areas that get tight and place additional stress on your golf body.
