Your Lower Body May Be the Cause of Up and Down Movement In Your Swing
Up and down movement during the swing changes the proportion of the length of the club to the swing arc, making it a shorter proportion as you straighten up on the backswing and a bigger proportion as you bend towards the ground on the downswing. This movement will cause the body to attempt to compensate in a number of ways, making repeatability very difficult. If your spine angle is pretty consistent, you can rule that out as a reason for the up and down movement in your swing. There are a number of lower body or core reasons why you might be experiencing an up and down movement in your golf swing.
Some examples of physical issues that are likely coming into play are:
- tight hamstrings
- tight hips restricting rotation
- lack of stability
- lack of core strength
This golf fitness program utilizes supersets. You will begin by performing the number of repetitions for each exercise, then immediately move to the next exercise in the superset. After you perform one set of each exercise in the superset, you will rest 30 seconds, then repeat again. Once the superset is complete, you will move to the next superset.
